  • Pickering - Oshawa - Southern Durham Region
A brief period of freezing rain is expected over northern portions.

Hazard:
Freezing rain leading to ice build-up on some surfaces.

Timing:
continue into early this afternoon.

Discussion:
The freezing rain over northern portions is expected to transition to rain or drizzle early this afternoon as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.

Areas near Lake Ontario are expected to receive mostly rain through this event.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
